Safe and secure courthouses are essential to the administration of justice. Effective courthouse security requires a strong partnership between the courts and law enforcement. It is crucial for state and local government to implement practical standards to ensure a safe and secure courthouse environment for the public, employees, and officials. This can be accomplished through the collaboration of the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of government. Ultimately, judges, court staff, and law enforcement officials serve as the protectors of citizens who use the court system.
This training conference is designed for those interested in learning how to maximize resources to enhance and maintain a safe environment for court users, community members, and courthouse personnel. The four tracks of training offered at this conference will benefit:
- judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and court personnel
- law enforcement professionals
- crime victim/witness advocates and service providers
- program administrators
- county board members and legislators
- corrections and probation/parole officials
- intelligence community
- emergency management personnel
- individuals responsible for court safety and security
Participants are eligible for up to 16 hours of Continuing Education
Training Hours through Fox Valley Technical College. Eligible
participants can also apply for judicial or legal education credits.
