Understanding Contemporary
Native America
The Story of Federal Indian Law
About the Seminar
This one-day seminar will provide your organization/agency with
the basic history of how the relationships between Native American
tribes, the federal government and states have evolved. This training
provides a basic understanding about the "sovereign nation" status of
Native American tribes. With this understanding participants will
better be able to establish partnerships across all forms of business and services.
A documentary video, Tribal Nations: The Story of Federal Indian Law will be part of the seminar. The video and accompanying study guide were developed to offer insight into how Federal Indian Law developed in the United States since the 1400's. Key historical events are defined and the video highlights those that impacted the federal policies on American Indian and Alaskan Native people.
