Drugs: Identification, Recognition, & Legal Update

Stay current on the most abused drugs in today's society. Professionals will learn to recognize and identify signs and symptoms of drug influence through a systematic 7-step recognition process.

Learn how drugs are impacting communities and individuals. Course instruction covers:
  • drug abuse and recognition systems
  • influence (signs and symptoms)
  • drug combinations
  • physiology of drug abuse
  • investigations (legal considerations)
This hands-on instruction will assist students in developing the skills necessary to recognize signs and symptoms for a variety of drugs, alcohol, and the use of controlled substances. Participants will learn to recognize alcohol and drug influence through a systematic approach which uses the 7-step drug recognition process.

This twenty-hour program includes a legal update and covers current information on trends for drugs entering the country, as well as those manufactured locally.

Due to the hands-on instruction, the class size is limited to assure all students are competent in the use of cards and lights prior to certification at the end of the course. Students must attend all twenty hours of instruction to be certified.
