Attended FVTC: Fall 2011 through Dec. 2013
Why did you choose the Marketing program?
I had a marketing class in high school that I enjoyed so I decided to give it a try at FVTC. I was not sure if this was what I wanted to do at all, but was very hopeful that it was. Turns out that enrolling into the marketing program has one of the biggest blessings in my life. The opportunities that I have had, the people I have met and everything I have learned since the fall of 2011 have been wonderful.
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
Something that I find interesting about marketing in general is that there are no limits. It is all about thinking outside of the box—being creative and unique. Plus I’ve learned so much about myself and my own potential. The self-confidence that I have gained and seeing how much I have grown professionally over the past year and a half is remarkable.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
It was a big plus knowing that there was a school not only close to home, but also one with a great reputation for teaching students the skills that they truly need to know. I have always been an advocate of FVTC for providing the fundamentals that one needs to begin a career path. Hearing that the class sizes are smaller so you get to connect with other students and instructors really caught my attention. Now that I am in my last semester, I can testify to all of that. I would recommend this school to anyone. Personally, I did not know what I wanted to do and Fox Valley Technical College has provided me with positive insight to reassure that I did choose the right program. It is a great atmosphere with great individuals.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
That’s a tough one for me to answer specifically; there is so much that like! One thing I have discovered about the marketing field is how versatile it is. I am currently very interested in the sports & entertainment marketing. I love the whole aspect of working with people, the energy behind it and the type of atmosphere. I am in the process of doing research on colleges for after I graduate from Fox Valley Technical College to further my education and interests. I am very open-minded about opportunities and know that only time will tell what chapter is next.
