Career Program: Early Childhood Education
Current Residence: Appleton
Attended FVTC: August 2010 through May 2012
Why did you choose the Early Childhood Education Program?
I have always been involved with children whether I was coaching a team, babysitting, refereeing youth leagues, or working in summer programs. I found a real passion to teach children and thought, why not take it to another level and make it a full-time job?
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
There is always something to do, and as a teacher I am busy throughout the day. However, the most rewarding part is all the smiles and laughs I hear from the little ones. As a teacher, I get to see them learning and growing every day.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I heard from other teachers that Fox Valley Technical College has a really good Early Childhood Education program. I had also completed a previous degree with Fox Valley Tech a few years earlier, so I was already familiar with the college.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
I just graduated in May, and had hoped to find an assistant teaching job after graduation, which I did. I recently also received a promotion and I am now a lead teacher in a toddler room. Being a lead teacher was my goal.
