Career Program: Administrative Professional
Current Residence: Waupaca
Attended FVTC: January 2012 through May 2014
Why did you choose the Administrative Professional program?
I chose the Administrative Professional program due to the workload variety. I have the skills to process and develop information in several software programs; organize, plan, and lead meetings; communicate effectively face-to-face, electronically, and through written correspondence; research and obtain travel arrangements; develop and assist with projects; and perform routine administrative duties. All of this is accomplished in a professional manner.
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
FVTC has provided me with opportunities to meet and talk with professionals in my same career field. Awesome! What I have found interesting is the importance placed on networking by these individuals. They explained if you need to find a piece of equipment to rent, learn a new task on a tablet, or to discover a better way of doing something, you could turn to your networking contacts for ideas.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
Along with FVTC-Waupaca’s presence in my community, my husband and several friends have attended work-related training seminars or classes offered by FVTC. The positive and informative opportunity that they each had made them grow intellectually and gave them new skills to function at a higher capacity in their jobs. I want that, too!
How did Fox Valley Technical College change your life?
FVTC rocked my world! I have overcome and conformed to several obstacles pertaining to learning in today’s educational world. I now have new skills to assist me with a multitude of workplace challenges. Bring it on!
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
My dream job would consist of working with upper management in a national or global company; however, I would also consider working for a local business with the same offerings. I have many skills, and I want to put them to good use in my future place of employment.
