Why did you choose the Nursing program?
My mother was my greatest influence. She is a pediatric nurse. She always inspired me and introduced me to the world of health care. Since I was a child, I've learned a lot of medical terms connected to different health problems, the remedies and different ways of caring for people.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

Throughout this short but very intensive year, I've obtained a lot of knowledge and experience in health science, which has helped me start a new career with ThedaCare. I find the techniques that teachers use to be very interesting. The teachers give students many different resources and methods to become successful. I find it very rewarding that when you do your best the teachers recognize your efforts.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I chose Fox Valley Technical College because it has a well-known reputation for excellence. Also, the instructors have an extensive knowledge regarding their subject matter, which enables the students to gain and retain the skills and knowledge needed in today's health care environment.

How did Fox Valley Technical College change your life?
The experiences I have had at Fox Valley Technical College have helped me in both my professional and personal life. My new job at ThedaCare gives me a strong base to build on for my future health care career. I also became more sociable and outgoing and have met a lot of new people from different backgrounds and with different career goals.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
After graduation, I plan on working as a registered nurse and gaining work experience in the field. Then I would like to continue my education at a medical college and become a physician.
