IT-Network Specialist and IT-Network Systems Administration

Mar 18, 2013

Age: 20

Hometown: Door County

Current Residence: Kimberly, WI

Why did you choose the IT-Network Specialist and IT-Network Systems Administration Programs?
I love of problem-solving, helping people and learning new things. Both of these programs incorporate all of those things. The IT field is always growing in our technological world we live in.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
People in the IT field are always looking for new and better ways of doing things and improving products. IT is part of the backbone that makes companies run, so whatever part of IT you are in, you have a part in the company’s success!

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I wanted to learn both computer systems administration and networking, and FVTC offers both programs. I also wanted something affordable and close to home, plus it offers hands-on learning and great teachers. FVTC is a perfect fit.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
The IT field offers many different flavors of jobs, depending on whether you work for a small, medium or large company. I hope to get a system admin or help desk position that pays between $35-50k per year starting.
