Whether you’re preparing for an important business meeting or wedding reception, learn to create memorable experiences for customers through this degree program. Gain the necessary customer service, room operations, and dining room and food service operations skills for these exiting careers. This degree program will also teach you to sell to convention organizers and businesses, and coordinate tourism efforts for communities. You’ll learn about catering and special event planning, as well as hospitality law and liability. Tourism is an integral part of the economy and creates a broad range of employment opportunities.

  • Demonstrate emerging management skills including leadership, communication, problem solving, technology, safety & security, and human resources for day-to-day operations of hotels, motels, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses. Completion of Hospitality Internships 1 & 2.
  • Demonstrate guest satisfaction and customer service skills. Catering & Special Event Planning (Planning & Executing an Event).
  • Show organizational skills in planning and maintaining costs utilizing quality controls to meet operational goals. Food, Beverage & Labor Cost Controls (Written Final).
  • Demonstrate entry-level skills related to marketing and selling principles, including attracting new and retaining existing customers. Principles of Group Sales (Sales Presentation).
  • Demonstrate entry-level skills essential in planning and coordinating meetings, special events, and catered functions for businesses and guests. Catering & Special Event Planning (Planning & Executing an Event).
  • Demonstrate emerging instructional skills to train entry-level hospitality employees. Hospitality Supervision (Training Video).
  • The Hotel & Restaurant Management graduate will obtain National Restaurant Assocation (NRA) SERVSAFE sanitation certification, Responsible Beverage Certification, American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid, CPR & AED Certification.
