Einstein Students use Fab Lab for Veterans

Bookmark and Share

Students from Einstein Middle School in Appleton teamed up with with the Fab Lab at Fox Valley Technical College to build custom guitars for military veterans through the local Wounded Warrior Project amputee softball team.

The guitars symbolically represent each branch of the United States military, including the Coastguard, and one guitar is designed for the Wounded Warrior Project. The guitars were donated to regional offices of the military branches for display purposes, and the Wounded Warriors’ guitar will serve as a traveling memento in conjunction with the organization’s activities.

FVTC’s Fab Lab is a primary resource for the region’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) skill development initiatives in young learners. STEM activities are designed to build relevant skill sets in young individuals to expose them to careers that require such talents in this economy. The skills gap continues to plague the U.S. economy, and STEM skills are what employers need now to stimulate economic development.
