Chefs in National Spotlight

Chefs Jenn Solloway-Malvitz and R.C. Schroeder, instructors in Fox Valley Technical College’s Culinary Arts program, will both be competing in the American Culinary Federation (ACF) regional competition, April 17-20 in New Orleans.

Solloway-Malvitz and Schroeder advanced to the competition representing the ACF Central Region, which is made up of 13 states and 60 chapters. Solloway-Malvitz is only one of four industry professionals vying for a chance to compete for ACF National Pastry Chef of the Year, and Schroeder is one of four chefs competing at a chance for ACF National Chef of the Year.

Founded in 1929, the ACF is the largest professional chefs organization in North America. Comprised of more than 20,000 members that belong to 225 chapters in four regions across the United States, the ACF provides accredited educational programs, certifications, competitions, and networking designed to enhance the professional growth for all current and future chefs and pastry chefs.
