Fab Lab Helps Inventors Attain Success

Bookmark and Share
The Fab Lab at Fox Valley Technical College recognized four inventors for their commercial successes in developing products for the marketplace during the first-ever Northeast Wisconsin Inventors Night (NEW IN) event, held at FVTC’s D.J. Bordini Center.

The four recipients of special recognition awards were business owners Kristin Ellsworth of Peeps Eyewear; Pat Marciniak of Septic Solutions; Lillian Strickland of BraidPik Enterprise; and Louis Woods of Wolf River Outfitters.

All of these inventors used FVTC’s Fab Lab to create prototypes for product development purposes. The products include children’s eyewear, a septic tank cleaning device, a cosmetic pick that reduces the amount of time it takes to unbraid hair, and a fishing pole designed to help arthritic and handicapped individuals enjoy the experience of catching fish.

The first-ever event drew more than 100 people, including aspiring inventors and business representatives, in addition to financial and in-kind sponsorship from 14 New North businesses.
