For Parents: Factors in Selecting a College

Bookmark and Share

The new economy requires a new way of thinking when selecting a college or university.

As a parent, what factors do you consider when selecting a college for university with your children? To help generate ideas on what these importance factors are today in choosing a higher educational institution, Fox Valley Technical College is holding its second Parent Panel free dialogue session on Tuesday, February 12 from 4:30 – 5:30 in the Library at the Appleton campus as part of College Preview Night.

The panel discussion is being offered again based on the success of the first session, which was held last October during FVTC’s annual Community Open House.

Topics will include:

• Questions to ask when choosing a college
• College degrees that actually get jobs
• Where graduates are working and how much they earn
• Affordability matters: compare the costs
• Personalized instruction & hands-on learning
• Gaining skills that area employers demand
• Will your student fit in?
• Flexibility & transferability
• Why accreditation matters

No registration is required. For more information on the panel discussion, call (920) 735-5738.
