In Elite Company in High-Tech Simulation

Fox Valley Technical College’s Health division earned first place in the 2013 Viewers’ Choice Video Awards competitions at the CAE Healthcare Human Patient Simulation Network World Conference in San Francisco.

The college took top honors for its YouTube video highlighting the use of human patient simulation technology in training emergency medical responders, skilled nurses, dental professionals, and more. There were more than 1,000 attendees representing 35 countries at the conference.

CAE Healthcare is a global provider in modeling, simulation, and training for civil aviation, defense, health care, and mining. The company’s health care simulators are used by FVTC for training purposes in several programs.


In addition, CAE Healthcare recognized five institutions as educator innovators for 2013 in acknowledgment of advancements and expanded use of healthcare simulation. FVTC is one of those five institutions in such elite company worldwide!

Barb Tuchscherer, department chair of Allied Health in FVTC's Nursing department, and Bob Sternhagen, human patient simulation technology instructor, display the award in the soon-to-be-open, three-story Health Simulation & Technology Center at the Appleton campus.
