Applied Engineering certificates provide students an understanding of the tools, machines, language and rules and regulations as they apply in the industry. Special emphasis is on the area related to an AAS degree. This certificate provides an understanding of the issues facing process engineering as an quality technician with analytical methods used to evaluate, problem solve and improve processes. Students will measure process results and set goals, involve employees in the DMAIC process, and use data and statistics to drive data-based improvements.
For people who want to broaden their skills or learn practical new ones in the area of production engineering:

- Classes are in a flexible format with an open schedule
- Learn the Lean and Six Sigma tools through the implementation of a project at your workplace
- Credits transfer to the Applied Engineering Technology program or can be used as electives to any FVTC associate degree
