Description: The Public Safety Executive Development Institute was developed to address the professional growth needs of current and future leaders presently serving in public safety agencies. Instruction is provided in a series of eight one-week sessions over a period of 12 months, which allows participants to apply learned concepts as they attend to the daily needs of their agencies.
- Application Form
- Letter of recommendation from the Chief Executive Officer of your agency
- Applicant narrative on the importance of management and leadership in a public safety agency
- Personal Resume
General Training Topics: Management concepts, leadership skills, personnel development, political, social, legal issues and advanced technical issues are discussed in detail, in an environment that encourages involvement and interaction in the learning process. This interaction is one of the strong points of the Institute. The goal is to establish long-term networking relationships. Our hope is that an active alumni group will evolve from the Institute. Members of this alumni group will assist in future curriculum development and research for retraining sessions. In fact, this session includes enhancements suggested by students from previous classes.
