Risk Management & Leadership Principles

Risk Management & Management Issues with

Gordon Graham

Date:  February 3, 2014; class number:  90328

(attend both classes for $125.00; class number: 90329)

Gordon has presented at similar programs in the past – and will open his program with some in depth discussion on the study of tragedy – and what really causes things to end up going bad. He will identify for the attendees the huge difference between “proximate” cause and “root” cause – and why this is so critical if we are going to build appropriate systems to prevent similar type tragedies.

Mr. Graham will then transition into other topical areas:
  • Risk Management and Public Safety
  • “The Seven Rules of Admiral Hyman Rickover”
  • “Ten Families of Risk” that law enforcement leaders face
The presenter of this action packed seminar is Mr. Gordon Graham, President of Lexipol, and a nationally recognized 33-year veteran (retired) of California Law Enforcement, a practicing attorney with a background and formal education as a risk manager.

By the end of the program, the attentive attendee will be able to:
  • Identify potential problems lying in wait in his/her respective agency.
  • Develop some control measures to address these problems.
  • Enhance the feedback loop to prevent future similar problems from occurring.
  • Leave the program with an expanded level of knowledge regarding “real” risk management and how it applies to law enforcement in Wisconsin.

  • Victim Based Thinking
  • Cynicism – Malcontentism
  • Relationship Failures
