Under Fire: Tactical Injury Management

With the increase in active shooter and domestic shootings, law enforcement has been presented with the challenge of officers having to treat combat-type injuries within our communities.
FVTC Criminal Justice and EMS staff present this 4-hour course for the in-field treatment of tactical trauma injuries. Students will learn tactical medical equipment options, how to carry it, and how and when to use this equipment. Other subjects include personal and team medical documentation, and extrication/transportation techniques for injured officers. The objective is to make the student familiar with skills needed to treat themselves or others in an extreme environment when facing drastic injuries.
