This 2 and 1/2 day training is intended for the small protection unit, and provides participants with the necessary skills for developing comprehensive security procedures to secure protected individuals in any environment. State-of-the-art methodologies for providing personal security to elected officials, business executives, and/or VIPs who employ either a law enforcement or private security force are discussed. Training was developed by former Secret Service agents and is predicated upon the techniques of the elite “Presidential Protection Unit”.

The training uses a proactive and preventative philosophy that includes conducting security advances, preparing preliminary survey reports, and developing emergency contingencies. Additional topics include physical protection training, information development, and intelligence assessment. Training also covers motorcade protocols, including vehicle selection, essential equipment, and various motorcade route concerns. Hands-on training for walking formations, reacting to an assault, and emergency evacuation will also be explored. Participants will complete a team exercise which includes writing a preliminary survey and safely delivering a protected individual to a mock site.
