Livestock Judging Contest State Livestock Judging Contest
This is a qualifying contest for the state FFA Career Development event. The top 35% or top 7 teams will qualify for the career development event. (The percentages qualified at area contest is based on the percentage of full 3- or 4-person teams indicating that they are attempting to qualify at an area contest.)
 
1. NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED!
2. The Livestock Judging teams should assemble in Room F108. Students should be in Room F108 by 8:30 a.m.
3. The teams will be transported by bus to the Outagamie Fairgrounds in Seymour. Dress appropriate for outside weather conditions!!
4. The students will judge two classes of beef animals and two classes of swine. The specific classes to be judged will be dependent on classes most readily available on contest day.
5. Students will be required to give oral reasons on one class in a designated contest room upon returning to campus. They may take notes on the animals while at the Arena, however, students will score higher in the "reasons contest" as they use notes less.
6. Schools may enter teams of four students. The three highest scores will be tallied for contest results.
7. Each contestant is asked to bring his/her own pen or pencil  and clipboard for use on score cards that will be provided for each member of the team.

Each school may enter one qualifying team OR one practice team. Please review the state FFA Career Development Events.
