Receive hands-on training for the horticulture and landscaping industries including both traditional and organic practices

  • Growing facilities with irrigation systems, cloning machines, hydroponic units, seed propagator, and tissue culture laboratory
  • Learn to use landscaping equipment such as: skid steers, mini-excavators, hand mowers, zero-turn mowers, gators, personal utility vehicles, dingo, tractor, bed edger, core aerator, and hand held power tools
  • Classes include: Introduction to Horticulture, Interiorscaping, Horticulture Soils, Ornamental Plant Health Care, Landscape Design, Maintenance of Landscape Plants, Turf Management, Landscape Construction, Survey of Herbaceous Plants, Ornamental Woody ID, Propagation, Diagnostics, Tissue Culture, Organic Landcare, Irrigation, Equipment Operation.  
  • Host site for industry training and conferences; such as, Build-A-Pond Day, Holiday Lighting Workshop, Compost Tea Workshop, and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Tree Pruning Workshop
  • Approved test site for Wisconsin Landscape Contractor's Association Certified Landscape Technician Exam

There are several fundraisers to raise funds for industry related field trips; including, MOSES, Northern Green Expo, Wisconsin Public Television Garden Expo, and other botanical locations.
