Welcome to Wood Manufacturing Technology!
Overview:
The following web pages describe the curriculum for the Wood Manufacturing Technology program at FVTC. The parallel major, Residential Building Construction, is available separately. Both programs are located at the S.J. Spanbauer campus of FVTC in Oshkosh, WI.
This is a 45-week, full-time day program that is in session year-round. Students must earn 43 credits in the core curriculum, and 8 credits of related coursework. The school year consists of 5 nine-week terms. The core curriculum, described below, is based on hands-on training, with students spending about 80% of their time in the shop. Student responsibilities include regular attendance and promptness. The importance of being "on the job" is stressed throughout the program.
