How to enroll in an associate degree, technical diploma or certificate program
1. Fill out admission application & submit with transcripts (if required)
It's easy to
apply online. After you submit your application, you will be required to pay the $30 application fee.
If you’ve previously applied to FVTC and paid the $30 fee you will not be charged the fee again.
We are now accepting program applications for the following terms: Spring 2012; and Fall 2012.
Due to high demand, some programs may have admissions deferred to a later term. Please go to
www.fvtc.edu/corewaittimes to view programs with wait times to enter core courses as well as programs for which applications have been deferred to a later term.
Application Deadlines: Applications are generally accepted up to three terms in advance, and are due no
later than eight days prior to the start of the term you wish to begin.
Applications received after that deadline may be processed for the following
term. Program admissions may be limited due to availability.
Admission Deadlines: Students wishing to be admitted for the Spring 2012 term must have all admission requirements completed by Monday, January 9, 2012.
Program admissions may be limited due to availability.
Transcript instructions for both first-time applicants and prior FVTC students.
2. Admission application processing
About two weeks after your admission application is submitted and processed, you will receive a letter in the mail from Fox Valley Technical College indicating your next step(s).
If required, you should complete the Accuplacer skills assessment as soon as possible. A $15 fee will apply. The results are used to assess skills in math, algebra, reading and sentence skills and are used for placement in classes.
You must schedule an appointment to take the Accuplacer.
Schedule your session online or call (920) 735-5645. You can take the assessment at any FVTC location.

Determine how much your education is going to cost and how you’re going to pay for it. If you need financial help, you should apply for financial aid in January before you start school, or as soon as possible after January. You are encouraged to apply for financial aid and admission to FVTC simultaneously.
Note: You should complete your previous year’s taxes before applying for financial aid.
5. Enter your program
If all admissions requirements are met, you will receive a letter from the college acknowledging your program acceptance. An invitation from Counseling Services will follow, outlining specific program information and inviting you to contact a counselor for academic planning details.
6. Attend new student orientation & register for your classes
After you have completed the entire application process, you will be contacted by mail to schedule a new student orientation. The orientation is required for all new students entering a program. Orientations take place about two to three months before your classes begin and last about four hours. You will learn about the many services available at the college, student life beyond the classroom and college policies. You will also meet with faculty and staff who will help you register online for your classes. For some programs, a separate program orientation may be required.
7. You’re ready to begin your classes!
