VI.R. Voter Registration Forms -

Student Distribution

ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY TYPE: STUDENTS

POLICY TITLE: Voter Registration Forms – Student Distribution

Introduction
Federal Law requires Fox Valley Technical College to distribute or make accessible a sufficient number of voter registration forms for all students enrolled in degree and certificate programs who attend classes on campus for every federal and gubernatorial election. This request for voter registration forms must be made no later than 120 days before the state’s voter registration deadline. According to the Higher Education Amendments of 1998 (HEA 98, Public Law 105-244), all colleges and universities must make a good faith effort to distribute the voter registration form within 60 days of the voter registration deadline. Wisconsin uses the following deadlines for voter registration:

By mail – 13 days prior to the election
In person – 1 day prior to the election
At the polls – same day

Procedure
The Registrar’s Office in Student Services will supply the sufficient number of voter registration forms equal to the number of enrolled students in state authorized programs and certificates prior to July 1 of any given year. Student Life will distribute the appropriate forms to campus locations.

Voter registration forms will be made available district-wide at the following locations to encourage student participation in upcoming elections:
  • Appleton Campus
  • Oshkosh Riverside Campus
  • D. J. Bordini Center
  • S. J. Spanbauer Center
  • Chilton Regional Center
  • Clintonville Regional Center
  • Neenah Regional Center
