III.I. Recycling

The Fox Valley Technical College actively supports recycling in conjunction with the Wisconsin Recycling Law (Act 335). After careful review of available information on recyclable wastes, FVTC has taken positive steps to promote a healthier environment for students, employees, and visitors at all campuses and functions. Students and guests will be encouraged to participate in the FVTC recycling program.

General Procedures
All FVTC staff will be involved in the FVTC recycling program at all campuses and functions. All staff will collect and sort all recyclables within their work area. Since most of the waste flow is paper products, the main emphasis is on paper recycling. Custodial staff will monitor the recycling process and empty the recycling containers for shipment to the recycling vendor. Whenever possible, employees will reuse unwanted items internally to reduce their amount of waste by recycling to other employees district-wide.

Recycled, reusable, or recyclable products must be used whenever possible by the total district. When purchases are made, the purchasing agent will consider recycled, reusable, and recyclable products as first choices whenever possible.

Revenue from the recycling program will be used primarily for program administration, development, and enhancement. Secondary priorities for revenue will be for staff and student appreciation and/or campus beautification.
