POLICY TITLE: Insurances—Management Exempt

  • Group Travel Accident Insurance Plan
  • Health and Dental Insurance Plan
  • Life Insurance Plan
  • Long-Term Disability Insurance Plan
Collective bargaining agreements cover the terms and conditions of insurance plans for support staff and faculty. In the case of management staff, these benefits are addressed through Board action and are reflected in the following policy statements:

Group Travel (Seat Belt) Accident Plan:
If an insured employee suffers a covered loss while the employee is
  1. wearing a seat belt, and

  2. driving or riding in a vehicle driven by a driver who is not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Group Travel Accident Insurance Plan will pay a $20,000 death benefit to the employee’s beneficiary or will pay a lump sum of the indicated percentage of the employee’s benefit for an accidental death and dismemberment benefit.

Health and Dental, Life, and Long-Term Disability Insurance Plans
All management staff who are issued a contract are eligible to participate in these insurance plans based on the following eligibility requirements:

Long-term disability insurance is based upon projected annual earnings. Therefore, first year coverage will be determined based upon projected salary had the employee worked at FVTC for the entire fiscal year. Subsequent years' coverage will be determined by annual salary as stated in individual contracts. The benefit shall be adjusted as salaries are adjusted.
