The ACCUPLACER evaluation measures students' academic skill level in the areas of reading comprehension, sentence skills, arithmetic and elementary algebra.
All full-time and part-time program students attending FVTC are required to complete all four ACCUPLACER evaluations prior to course registration.
Preparing for ACCUPLACER
To register for an appointment at any FVTC location, you must register for an ACCUPLACER class session (including any re-tests).
This registration process is used when registering for one or all evaluations of ACCUPLACER testing.
(All evaluations being taken must be completed in one session.)
When searching for an open session, be sure to search under the term in which you will be testing and click on VIEW ALL SECTIONS for an expanded list of date/time options. They may not be in order by date.
Official semester start/end dates:

There is a $15 fee for taking ACCUPLACER. If you do not attend the testing session class, you must drop it at least one business day before you test, or you can call 920-735-5645 to inform Enrollment Services that you want to drop the testing session class. If you do not drop or call, you will be billed even if you do not test. Your fees can be paid online at the time of registration, at Enrollment Services (Appleton/Oshkosh Campuses), or at the Regional Center where your test will be taken. If you plan to pay the same day as testing, please arrive 20 minutes early to allow time for payment before the test session begins.
Late arrivals will not be accommodated once the testing session has begun

Things to Know
- You may submit a Post-Secondary transcript to Enrollment Services for evaluation to determine if your skills assessment requirement can be waived.
- LATE ARRIVALS WILL NOT BE ACCOMMODATED. Make sure you are checked in and seated before the start time.
When registering, be sure to verify the campus location you chose to test at is correct.
A current photo ID is required at the time of your test.
The name you are registered as in the FVTC database MUST match the photo ID you present for testing at check-in. Any changes must be done at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled session. No exceptions.
You need to know your FVTC student ID# for testing (or have it written & with you).
ACCUPLACER is untimed, but it typically takes about 2 hours to finish.
All materials are provided;
NO calculators or other materials are allowed
The student is responsible for knowing which evaluations they need to be tested in. Please let the test proctor know when checking in.
Upon completion of the assessment, you will receive your score report, and an interpretation may be available with a counselor.
Children are not allowed in the testing room and may not be left unattended. Please make your own arrangements for child care prior to your testing session.
If you are not able to attend the ACCUPLACER test session at your scheduled time and would like a refund,
you must drop the class to receive a refund
. The class must be dropped before your scheduled class session in order to receive a refund. If you do not drop the class before the day you are scheduled to test, you are responsible for the fee.
Students will be allowed to re-test only ONCE. All re-tests must be completed in one session. We recommend you wait 30 days before attempting to re-test in order to give yourself adequate time to study. To schedule a re-test, follow the same process of registration indicated above. Another $15 assessment fee applies to re-tests. If three years have passed since the re-test, the assessment process starts over based on the new date of application to FVTC.Apprenticeship students only:
If you are re-testing for the second time, you MUST have, on letterhead, a letter from the apprenticeship committee indicating you are allowed to retest and in which subject(s). If you do not have the letter, you will not be allowed to test.
