Change Happens When Sustainability is Fun...You Know, Like a Game
Presenters: Kathy Kuntz, Executive Director and
Raj Shukla, Program Manager,
Cool Choices
What if everyone at your firm was a sustainability champion? How might that affect your daily operations?
Making behavior change happen is challenging. It is easier to change out equipment than to change people’s behaviors. But behavior change is possible and, when it happens, the results are often amazing.
Cool Choices works with businesses to implement fun and engaging initiatives that engage employees and transform corporate cultures. Framed as a game where employees earn points for taking actions in their personal and work lives, Cool Choices’ approach mixes the best practices from decades of behavioral sciences with ground-breaking gamification strategies to motivate real and lasting changes.
Cool Choices staff will share lessons learned from employee engagement programs at two very different companies, illustrating how games can motivate change. They will also talk about insights from the behavior change literature more generally and give workshop participants an opportunity to develop strategies related to a behavior they want to influence in their own firm.
Learn about:
- Employee engagement
- Motivating lasting behavior change
- Gamification strategies
- Transforming corporate culture
Participants will leave with:
- Understanding of why change seems hard
- Case studies about what is possible
- 2-3 ideas to facilitate change at your business
