Program Overview

Picture 5 Our graduates are skilled in planning environments, developing age-appropriate activities and setting expectations that are congruent with children's needs and characteristics. Graduates value a diverse culture, respect the varied backgrounds of children, encourage family participation and effectively communicate and collaborate with children, parents and coworkers.

Success in the Early Childhood Education program requires the effort and commitment of well-educated, dedicated and quality people. Graduates have a variety of employment possibilities from establishing and managing a child care center, or being a program director or teacher to working as a nanny throughout the United States.

This program offers an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. One of the strengths of this program is that students receive on-the-job training in child care, nursery school, kindergarten and early childhood exceptional needs settings. All students also complete a practicum experience at FVTC's Parent/Child Center.
