Welcome!

Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) has a long history of providing education and training to Veterans, Service Members, and qualifying family members.  We embrace the diversity and profoundly value the strength and unique character this diversity has contributed to our College.  It is a privilege to serve those who have served our country.

Our staff assist students with Veteran education benefits and serve as a liaison between our students and various federal, state, and local agencies.  We look forward to working with you!  We are located in Room E119 (Entrance 10) on Appleton's main campus

1.) Getting Started @ FVTC:

Click here for information on programs of study and to submit an online application for admission.

Under 2013 Assembly Bill 201, degree-seeking student Veterans and Service Members may qualify for early enrollment depending on the condition of their military discharge.  Students using Veteran education benefits will be identified for early enrollment accordingly. Students not using Veteran education benefits must contact FVTC Veterans Services and submit proper documentation to apply for early enrollment.

2.) Applying for & Activating Veterans Education Benefits:

Federal Benefits - Click here for federal Veteran education benefits information and application instructions.

State Benefits - Click here for state Veteran education benefits information and application instructions.

         2.0 Cumulative GPA Requirement:

Beginning in January 2014, any student using the Wisconsin G.I. Bill, whether it be the Veteran, the spouse or the child of a Veteran, must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher in order to remain eligible for the Wisconsin G.I. Bill benefits.  Should a student using the Wisconsin G.I. Bill have a cumulative GPA that falls below the threshold of 2.0 at the end of a term, the student may still enroll the following term; however, they will not be able to use the Wisconsin G.I. Bill at that time.  Should the student get their cumulative GPA back to a 2.0 or higher at the end of a nonqualifying term, the student will be re-certified for the subsequent term by the institution/school.

FVTC Veterans Services may request the following items for your file:

  • Federal Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
  • DD-214 (member 4 copy)
  • WDVA 2029 (if applying for the WI G.I. Bill)
  • Marriage Certificate (if spouse)
  • Birth Certificate (if dependent)
  • Service-connected disability rating papers (if applying for a benefit requiring a service-connected disability)
If you are using a federal benefit, it is crucial that you notify FVTC Veteran Services of future enrollments.  We are required to certify your classes every semester.  Failure to notify us of enrollment will result in non-payment.

3.) Transfer Credit / Advanced Standing Opportunities:

The first step to claiming the credits you have earned is to request a JST Transcript.

You may also visit FVTC's Transfer Credit office to learn more about transfer credit and advanced standing options.  Please call 920-735-4720 or email transfercredit@fvtc.edu for assistance.

4.) Connecting with other Veterans on Campus:

FVTC is proud to have Student Veterans of America (SVA) on campus!  This is a student club that collaborates, networks, shares relevant resources, and discusses topical concerns.  As a club, SVA strives to enhance the educational experience at FVTC.  SVA's overall purpose is to provide support and opportunities where the student Veterans and Service Member can reconnect, thrive, and succeed.

Visit FVTC SVA on Facebook and Twitter for information on upcoming events and good discussion.

Meetings are held in the Pepsi Atrium (Appleton Campus)
