To process and receive a subsidized and/or unsubsidized student loan, the following items must be in place:
- admitted and active in an aid-eligible program at FVTC
- applied for federal financial aid through the FAFSA form
- received a Financial Aid Award Letter and awarded a loan
Students will only need to complete one MPN if attending consecutive semesters while at FVTC. Transferring students will need to complete a new MPN to initiate loan status at FVTC.
Loan Entrance Counseling
If a student has not taken at least a one-credit, post-secondary course with a GPA of 1.0 that has transferred to FVTC, or has not taken at least a one-credit, post-secondary course previously at FVTC with a GPA of 1.0, the student is required to complete the Loan Entrance Counseling.
