Big Names for 2012-2013 Speaker Series

The Student Life department’s Student Activities Committee at Fox Valley Technical College announced its 2012-2013 Speaker Series.

Highlighting this year’s lineup is Elizabeth Smart, whose high profile abduction case was one of the most followed ever. Ms. Smart will speak on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Appleton campus as part of the FVTC National Criminal Justice Training Center’s annual Responding to Missing & Unidentified Persons Conference.

The following speakers round off the series for the school year:

Ahmed Khan, lecturer on the myths of Islam, Wednesday, September 26 at 11:30 a.m., Oshkosh Riverside campus

Henry Golde, Holocaust survivor, Thursday, September 27 at 11:30 a.m., Appleton campus and on Wednesday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m., Oshkosh Riverside campus

Teri Jendusa Nicolai, national presenter on domestic abuse awareness, Tuesday, October 23 at 6:00 p.m., Oshkosh Riverside campus
Jalen Rose, current ESPN/ABC studio analyst and NBA veteran, Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m., Appleton campus

Zach Wahls, gay marriage presenter and son of two lesbian mothers, Tuesday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m., Appleton campus.

All FVTC Speaker Series events are free and open to the public.
