Fox Valley Technical College received a $105,000 College Success grant from the Great Lakes High Education Guaranty Corporation to provide mentorship-related case management, advising, and learning opportunities for African-American male students.
The initiative is designed to boost graduate completion rates for this targeted demographic through FVTC’s new “Brother-to-Brother” program. The program will originally focus on the progress of 40 African-American male students on both the Appleton and Oshkosh campuses as a pilot assessment through the college’s Multicultural Student Services department.
The Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation & Affiliates helps millions of students pay for college and repay their student loans. Through Community Investments, Great Lakes leads initiatives and funds programs that help students from traditionally underserved backgrounds start and complete a two- or four-year degree or other credential.
