Fox Valley Technical College is a nationally-recognized provider of automotive mechanical training.     **ASE Certification Test Preparation**
    Receive an intensive four-hour block of instruction both in the classroom and in the shop for the specific ASE category. ASE areas covered include A-1 thru A-9 and Advanced Level Specialist L-1.
    **Automotive Service Writer Workshop**
    Assists automotive service writers improve their communication skills and knowledge through intensive class participation, role plays and discussion of case studies.
    **Basic Automotive Brakes and Air Conditioning**
    Designed for mechanics that need the knowledge and skills to work on automotive climate control systems. The workshop offers a basic working knowledge of HVAC systems on current production vehicles. Identification and operation of system components, air distribution systems, and diagnosis and repair will be covered. Servicing systems with contemporary equipment and scan tool diagnosis will be instructed both in the classroom and in the shop. The entire process of recovery, recharging and reclaiming will be discussed and performed. You will learn system function and operation, as well as servicing and diagnostics. Also learn about A/C system and component identification, operation, diagnosis, repair and refrigerant handling. A certificate of achievement will be awarded upon completion.
    **Collision Damage Assessment-Introduction**
    Designed to introduce inside and outside insurance claim adjusters, appraisers and collision shop estimators to the estimating process. The material presented aids in the understanding of P-Page interpretation relative to repair estimates. Effectively communicate within the collision industry with improved estimate structure, included/non-included operations comprehension, and component identification skills. Upon completion you will understand component identification, P-page explanations, guidelines in structuring an estimate, abbreviations and acronyms, and complete computerized estimates using the software of choice.
    **Intro to Hybrid Vehicles**
    Introduces students to hybrid vehicles from the major manufacturers including Toyota, GM, Ford, and Honda. Participants perform lab activities related to basic operation, inverters, ICE and emissions during this 20-hour training.
    ** Intro to Light Duty Diesel**
    Introduces students to the diesel engine operation fundamentals during a 24-hour training. Covers maintenance and tune-ups, including fuel pump and injector replacements. Participants learn to troubleshoot drivability and fuel economy complaints along with lab activities related to testing and diagnostics.
