Why did you choose the Marketing program?
I took a lot of marketing/business classes in high school and enjoyed them. My instructors really inspired me and fostered a deep appreciation for the subject. My experience competing in DECA at the high school level also played a huge role in my decision to pursue a career in marketing.
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
It’s really interesting to see just how many different career options there are. When I go on Wisconsin TechConnect there are job opportunities in almost any field imaginable. Marketing is an essential part of all fields from medical to industrial and so much more.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
Choosing a college is one of the hardest decisions high school students have to make. Fox Valley Tech provides quality education at an affordable price. The instructors here have worked outside of education and bring industry insight to the classroom. Students at FVTC get a chance to practice the skills they learn in the classroom through a variety of hands-on activities. It’s hard to briefly summarize just how much FVTC has to offer.
How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?
I have grown so much both personally and professionally during my time at FVTC. The endless networking opportunities have allowed me to connect with so many amazing and talented individuals. Being involved in a student organization has also had a very positive impact on my life. Traveling to Washington, D.C. to compete at the national Collegiate DECA competition this past spring was one of the most memorable and beneficial experiences of my life.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
There are so many interesting job opportunities for marketing graduates. Ideally I would love to be involved in marketing city/regional growth and community events for a Chamber of Commerce or similar organization. I also hope to one day become involved in marketing education.
