Career Program: Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology
Current Residence: Neenah
Attended FVTC: August 2015 through December 2016
Why did you choose the Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology program?
Knowledge in a specific field can be a very powerful tool. I chose the Automated Manufacturing program at Fox Valley Technical College because individuals with knowledge in programming and automation are vital resources to companies worldwide. The demand for AMS graduates is high!
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
Everything! As each day passes, I am learning something new in the field of automation. When a fresh idea is introduced to me, it is incredibly rewarding to see the function or code complete successfully without an error. The interesting part is that there is often more than one way to make something work effectively.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
Choosing FVTC was easy for three reasons. First, both the electronics and automation programs have intelligent instructors who are willing to bend backwards to help students understand difficult concepts. Second, the technology, equipment, and robots we use in class are cutting-edge to prepare us, as graduating students, for real-world applications. Third, the college was local and quite well-known to have excellent graduates!
How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?
Fox Valley Technical College made it possible to quickly earn another degree to enhance my bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University. It took me only three semesters to complete my degree at FVTC.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
After graduation, I am eager to land a position as an automated engineer, electrical engineer, or product engineer for a company that seeks an innovative, efficient and intelligent individual to bolster their team.
