Automotive Technology instructors Bob Hicks and Dean Juliar both earned World Class Certification through General Motors’ (GM) prestigious Service Technical College.

Instructors with World Class Technician (WCT) status represent the highest level of GM expertise. They are required to complete seven mechanical-related certifications along their journey toward WCT certification with an emphasis on either engine or diesel engine performance. Hicks and Juliar joined only 27 other WCT GM ASEP instructors nationwide, validating the uniqueness behind their exemplary accomplishment. ASEP, or Automotive Service Education Program, is another level of certification that presents an industry benchmark when it comes to meeting GM training standards. FVTC is a GM ASEP training school.

“This achievement is very humbling and beneficial to our students,” said Hicks. “It’s also indicative of the quality instruction that Fox Valley Tech strives for related to best practices in the automotive field.”

Housed in the high-tech J. J. Keller Transportation Center on the Appleton campus, FVTC offers seven degree programs in automotive technology, including offerings in collision and vehicle refinishing as well.
