Milestone Win for Men’s Basketball Team

Jan 24, 2014

The Fox Valley Technical College Foxes men’s basketball team earned a milestone win in the program’s young history of competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

The team earned its first-ever victory over a Division 2 NJCAA opponent, Gogebic Community College of Ironwood, Michigan. The Foxes defeated Gogebic in a hard-fought battle, 76-75, during a home game on January 14. FVTC competes as a Division 3 team in the NJCAA.

Alan Waukau, Criminal Justice Law Enforcement, made the game-winning basket with 10 seconds to play and led the Foxes in scoring with 25 points and four assists.

Quadry Smith, Fire Protection Technician, added 14 points, and Josh Rieth, Criminal Justice Law Enforcement, had a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds.
