Why did you choose the Culinary Arts and Hotel & Restaurant Management program?
As a kid growing up I always had a passion for cooking. I loved everything about it; seeing it, smelling it and of course eating it. I couldn’t imagine my life if I wasn’t cooking, or working in a kitchen with food somewhere.
What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?
Last semester I took a class called Molecular Gastronomy. This class was so fascinating and I loved learning about the subject in class every week and also from research I did on my own time. This class taught me how to make food fun by using many various techniques and flavors.
Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?
I decided to attend Fox Valley Technical College when I was about 15 years old. I knew people here and they said they loved it so I decided to check it out for myself and so far I love it too. I found it easy to make friends and meet new people through groups and activities I participate in at school. I also like how affordable it was.
What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?
After I graduate I hope to find a job working on a cruise ship. It has always been a dream of mine to travel for my work and what better way to do it than that!
