Why did you choose the Aeronautics-Pilot Training program?

Ever since I was a young child, I had always dreamed of becoming a pilot. It wasn’t until half way through my term of service in the Air Force that I realized it was something I really wanted to pursue and make a career out of.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

So far, instrument training has been the most challenging yet rewarding. Having the ability to fly the aircraft with little to no outside visual reference is quite intriguing.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose Fox Valley Technical College because they offer everything a large four-year aviation school does in just two years. The opportunity to get out in the field early puts every FVTC pilot graduate ahead of their peers.

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?

FVTC made what seemed to be impossible, possible. I had doubts about whether or not I would be able to make this dream become a reality, but through a very structured and self-paced program, I’ve been able to succeed.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

Typically low-hour pilots can expect their first job to be instructing other pilots. Once a sufficient amount of hours have been logged doing that they progress to larger aircraft such as those at a regional carrier. Personally, this is the route I would like to take but it is not the only option. The industry is prospering right now and will for years to come, so it’s an exciting time.
