Why did you choose the Mechanical Design Program?

I have worked in the manufacturing industry for 12 years in various fields. I had done the physical aspect of the job and realized that I would like to get into the technical side of it. I think that having the hands-on experience in this industry helped me excel in this program.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I am learning that being in this field gives you access to a lot of different opportunities. Having the experience in the shop and the education in mechanical design has opened a lot of doors for me, and I look forward to seeing where it takes me.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose Fox Valley Technical College because it offered a program that interested me and that matched perfectly what I had already learned in the manufacturing industry. Working full-time and completing my degree in this program was definitely a challenge, but FVTC gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in my field.

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?

FVTC changed my life by allowing me the opportunity to take my career in manufacturing to the next level. Receiving my degree in Mechanical Design Technology will open many doors for me in the manufacturing industry and, along with my shop floor experience, will help me excel in my career.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I expect to get a job where I am able to be creative but also would love the opportunity to work alongside some experienced engineers and learn how the design side of the job truly works. I have high hopes that I can find a job that will turn into a career in mechanical design, and I would love to be able to utilize the skills that I have learned throughout the course of my education at FVTC.
