We’re always excited to add new learning opportunities that train students for careers in high-demand areas or strengthen other programs at the college. We recently started to offer Agricultural Accounting. Agriculture instructor Mary Fronek answers five frequently asked questions about this certificate.

What is Agricultural Accounting all about?

One of the most powerful tools of agriculture production is knowing the true breakeven price for each item that is produced on the farm. By completing the Agricultural Accounting Certificate, students learn the most useful information for making decisions about the ongoing operation of a farm or ranch.

Why did FVTC decide to add this program now?

Profit margins in agribusinesses are tighter than ever, stressing the importance of managing the accounting books. This certificate can be completed while working full-time.

What are some of the courses involved in this certificate?

Classes include Introduction to Agribusiness and Agribusiness Management, plus courses to learn how to construct spreadsheets and work with QuickBooks.
