FVTC student Uyen (Winnie) Miller and alumnus Charley Wessberg were honored for their achievements recently at a statewide conference for healthcare information technology professionals.

During the annual conference for the Wisconsin Health Information Management Association (WHIMA) in May 2022, Winnie Miller was the recipient of a $1235 scholarship to use toward her studies in the Health Information Technology program, which she will complete this summer.

In addition, graduate Charley Wessberg was awarded the Rising Star Award for his achievements in the industry. He is a 2015 graduate of the FVTC Medical Coding Technical Diploma who went on to earn both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He currently works for UW Health as an IS support and optimization supervisor.

The FVTC Health Information Technology program is an excellent option for people who want to work in healthcare, but not necessarily directly with patients. It’s an in-demand field involving management and maintenance of patients’ health data. Learn more >
