Why did you choose the Nursing program?

Growing up with a disabled aunt with cerebral palsy, I learned at a young age the importance of good quality caregivers and the sense of accomplishment of helping others. My career began in 2008 when I obtained my CNA through the FVTC Chilton Regional Center. By obtaining my CNA, I was able to work through a homecare agency to help care for my aunt’s needs. I then pursued EMT training with Fox Valley Tech, because I enjoyed the medical field but wasn’t quite sure exactly which path I wanted to take. Eventually I realized I wanted more of the nursing field, so after completing my general education credits, I obtained my LPN at Fox Valley Tech. Today, I’m in the pathway of LPN to ADN program, and can’t wait to continue my education and help those in need!

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

Every aspect of my career field is rewarding. The nursing field always has something new and interesting.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose Fox Valley Technical College because of the low cost per semester, multiple regional locations that are more accommodating to those who live farther away, as well as multiple different class times. It was easy to keep my full-time job, yet go to school to further my education.

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?

I am currently an LPN thanks to Fox Valley Tech. Everyone was motivating and right there to help me through. The process of obtaining an education through FVTC is very well organized.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I currently work in Gastroenterology as an LPN. I can’t wait to further my skills as an RN, and be right there with the doctors during endoscopic procedures.
