Why did you choose the Medical Assistant Program?

It has been a longtime dream of mine. After raising our children I am now able to pursue this career. I am absolutely loving it and I am so excited to graduate in May!

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I am learning how many options the client actually has. They can pick so many different places to receive health care services. I want to help people feel confident about their health and never be afraid to ask any questions. I hope to be one of those people to help them and relay those questions to their providers for the answers they are looking for.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I chose FVTC because of the time they took with my husband and myself when we were visiting schools. They actually took the time to show us all about what FVTC had to offer. Additionally, a big factor was all of the extra help they offer after classes and on Saturdays. I knew immediately that this was the school for me!

How has Fox Valley Technical College helped you change your life?

It has been huge! They have taught me that I CAN and that nothing is impossible. All of our classes have a family of people. We all help each other out and work together. I couldn’t have done this without them and I am so thankful!

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I would love to work in the medical field with the opportunity to advance in the future.

In one sentence, what's your best advice for someone who's not sure they're ready for college?

It’s NEVER too late to go after your dreams!
