Wood Manufacturing Grad Preserves Hmong Heritage

Beu Vang creates pieces with meaningful Hmong symbols

“I believe many of us are walking around, just going through the motions of everyday life, like me, and not truly experiencing life.”

After years of working in manufacturing, Beu Vang decided to take a risk and make a career change. That life-changing decision brought him to Fox Valley Technical College where he earned his technical diploma in Wood Manufacturing.

Beu recently shared his story with Spectrum News where he elaborated on his decision to move into the art and woodworking area, and how these skills are helping him preserve and share his Hmong heritage.
