Description:
Covers complex canine emergencies in the field for emergency rescue personnel and K9 handlers. Topics include, heat stroke recognition and treatment, major trauma overview, illicit drug exposure, intubation, IV catheters and fluid resuscitation, recognizing pneumothorax, needle decompression and chest tube placement, and bloat management in the field including trocarization.

Class Notes:
Students should bring note-taking materials with them to class. K9’s are welcome in the class. If you are a K9 handler, firefighter, paramedic, first responder, law enforcement officer or a member of a search and rescue team, you are eligible to attend this class. General public is also welcome to enroll in this class.
