Celebrating the Hmong Experience in Wisconsin

Hmong are the largest Asian ethnic group in Wisconsin, and the month of April is recognized as Hmong Heritage Month in the state.

This month, we reflect on the many sacrifices that the Hmong people have made in service to our country and to celebrate the vibrant, resilient and diverse culture of Hmong Wisconsinites as an important part of our state’s identity.

The following events are being offered by the FVTC Diversity & Inclusion Services team:

Thursday, April 4
Hmong Step Dance
1-2 p.m.
Room C190, Appleton Campus
Come and learn how to Hmong step dance to one of the most popular step dances in the Hmong community

Tuesday, April 16
A Night in the Jungle*
11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Room C190ABC, Appleton Campus
Back by popular demand, A Night in the Jungle is an immersive experience for all. Experience a glimpse of what the Hmong people had to go through after the Vietnam war. Learn a little bit about the history of the Hmong people before embarking on this experience.
*A Night in the Jungle will be in a dark room with sounds and intense interactions. You will be crawling through a maze with obstacles along the way. Please dress accordingly.​
