Wautoma Center Opens with Great Anticipation

| By: Britten, Casey

This fall the doors opened to the new Fox Valley Technical College Wautoma Regional Center, welcoming education and workplace training unique to greater Waushara County.

For 40 years, FVTC has held a presence in Wautoma in the CAPsell building downtown. The new 12,000 square-foot facility located on the Wautoma High School campus provides an ideal boost to an already robust partnership in K-12 programming with local schools. New offerings include truck driving, industrial maintenance and nursing assistant, in addition to continued programming in adult basic education, agriculture, welding, business, and personal enrichment.

On September 18, college officials gathered with community leaders, Wautoma School District representatives, dignitaries, and more to dedicate the center. During the event, visitors toured high-tech learning labs for welding, industrial maintenance, and nursing assistant, in addition to spacious classrooms and meeting spaces. The center also houses the Wautoma School District office and local Fox Valley Workforce Development Center.

Tony Gonzalez, chair of the FVTC Board of Trustees, and Jackie Weber, president of the FVTC Foundation Board (center), cut the ribbon to dedicate the new Wautoma Regional Center.
