Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training offered by Fox Valley Technical College is a specialized category of firefighting involving airport ground emergencies. Training may include:
- Emergency response
- Hazard mitigation
- Evacuation and rescue
- Emergency medical treatment of passengers and crew
The ATW ARFF Training Center provides multiple hands-on training scenarios on a one-of-a-kind Boeing 777 with a broken wing and a Cessna training prop. Training options range from the 40-hour airport firefighter course and FAA live burn recertification to custom-designed courses for the municipal firefighter. Any scenario encountered on an airfield can be re-created and tailored to produce the most realistic training available. Facility and training prop details can be found below.
Several courses are eligible for IFSAC certification.
Courses are pending approval by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to meet specific Federal Aviation Requirements (FAR).
